Nothing to do

Here we are, out in the middle of nowhere, there’s no one around, nobody to talk with. What should we do?

We could…

Or…

I know!
Let’s…

…build a wall.

Wow! That was so much fun. Let’s build another one.

And one over here. And another over there. And connecting to the first one. And diagonally. And curved around this way. And… Help! We just can’t stop.

Seriously though, all through Croatia and Montenegro you can find these stonewalls. They are in the middle of nowhere. They lead to nothing. They keep nothing/no one in or out. Who built them? Why are they there? Unfortunately, as there really was no one around, we were not able to find out the answer. Sorry! Maybe one of you can help us?

Dear Joska and Sandy, It is so good to see you on your blog and in the emails you send. I'm allways looking forward the news you share, to be able to rejoice and breath along with you!
I want to give you one possible answer to your question, although it might not be the good one. So the walls might be built during the recent war between the former states of Yugoslavia. Croatia and Serbia fought against each other so these kind of mementos might have been built by those solders of the war throughout the region.
With love, Janos from Budapest
